• The Rise of Baiyappanahalli: Namma Metro effect

    The Abode Stories

This is a genuine attempt to enable NRIs and interested investors to see these small pockets of massive boom from the real estate angle. Once having witnessed these changes through their eyes, we are available to chat or find more information regarding their area of interest.

So our first story covers the areas surrounding the Baiyappanahalli Metro Station of the Namma Metro in Bangalore, Karnataka. How is the rise of this small train station impacting infrastructure and real estate around it. Team NRI Abode has covered this story for you and plans to bring many more. So here, goes.

Metro trains have been ferrying the Kolkata citizens for some years now, but it was the Delhi metro that brought the changing face of mass transport in India to the fore. Urban leaders of the state realised the convenience it brought to the common man. Karnataka was no different. Bangalore’s metro rail service, Namma Metro, was launched on 20th Oct’2011 at 4pm. The main six stations of the reach 1, phase 1 are Baiyappanahalli, Swami Vivekananda Road, Indiranagar, Ulsoor, Trinity Circle & M.G road.

Baiyappanahalli metro station is the eastern terminal point on the east-west corridor of the Namma Metro in Bangalore,India. Authorities are terming it as the hub that holds importance as it connects the east Bangalore to the city. Also the advantage of the station is the presence of the South Western Railway station and the Inter City Bus terminal.

“Baiyappanahalli will be the satellite terminal in the city to decongest the main station from where 61 pairs of trains originate, pass through or terminate daily,” South Western Railway (SWR) general manager P.K. Saxena told reporters through a video conference from Hubballi, about 470km from here.

“As mentioned in the previous railway budgets, Baiyappanahalli will be developed as a world class station with a coaching terminal under the PPP mode, as it is well connected from four directions,” Saxena said.

So to conclude. This is about Baiyappanhalli. Watch out this space for the continuing segment on how areas like Kasthurinagar, Sadanandanagar, a walking distance from the station, are coming up. The ease of connection to MG Road  from these areas is a massive opportunity. Don’t forget that Namma also brings the advantage of flying over (almost literally!) the clogged traffic. So there is a huge reliance and usability. MG Road station is posed to become a magnificent cultural zone with buzzing activity. Watch out for our coverage on that as well.
